Description

The color of warm earth. The texture of something that tells time.

In Oak Print, the Classica is dressed in leather from Horween — Chicago's legendary tannery, where craft has been kept alive since 1905. The oak print embossing runs across every surface in fine, rhythmic waves, pressed into the hide periodically at the tannery itself, making each run a moment in time that will not repeat exactly. To hold it is to feel the difference between pattern and print, between something stamped and something made.

The hand-stitched edges trace every curve with quiet steadiness, thread and leather moving together in the unhurried language of genuine craft. The sculptural handle arcs above it all — fully wrapped in the same embossed leather, consistent and considered from every angle.

Close the flap. Two concealed magnets find each other beneath the leather — no click, no catch. Just the quiet certainty of a connection made to last.

Oak Print does not imitate. It originates.

Care

To maintain the beauty and integrity of your purchase, we recommend treating it with care when using, but don't be afraid to use it. Good leather pieces need to be used! Simple maintenance practices, such as proper storage using the included dust bag, can effectively preserve the longevity of your piece.

Because leather is a natural material and also because each piece is sewn by hand, it may have small imperfections. They are part of the charm of the bag.

Patina is also something to expect with your piece as that is one of the many benefits of using vegetable tanned leather. The color will deepen and it will begin to get softer and shinier the more you use it, making it even more uniquely yours.

Design

Our dedication to excellence extends beyond materials; it encompasses the artistry and craftsmanship illustrated in every piece we create.

Grant quite literally hand cuts and hand sews each and every piece. All designs are his originals.

Leather is always vegetable tanned and sources from several of our favorite tanneries in Italy, Spain and the US.

Hardware is solid metal, usually brass.
